According to a new poll conducted by Vanderbilt University, 56 percent of Tennessee teachers want to abandon the Common Core Curriculum.

Twenty-seven thousand teachers responded to the survey and only 31% of them want to proceed with teaching the standards, reports The Tennessean. The previous year's survey found that 60% of Tennessee teachers felt that using Common Core would improve student learning. But in this year's survey, that number dropped by nearly half.

While a single symptom or explanation for this large dip in support is not mentioned in the article, Vanderbilt professor Dale Ballou buried his head in the sand and said, "The one thing I would caution people against is jumping to the conclusion that this means now that teachers are actually trying it, they’re discovering that it doesn’t work.”
