One of the most difficult things for me, personally, is seeing what is going on, knowing (more or less) where it is going and then talking to people who have no idea what is going on and are absolutely unprepared.

Any of us could live in Thailand, like kings & queens for anywhere from $1k on up. I checked it out when I visited and there was a gorgeous Grecian like house that opened to a huge pond. I don't remember the rent, but it fit the $1k with money to spare.

Muslims are mostly in the south around Phuket. They have internal strife in Thailand but if you live outside Bangkok you're likely OK.
