This child is severely brain damaged. Of all known cases of mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, Charlie's is the most advanced.
It's highly unlikely that the child could be cured because he has multiple organ and muscle failures that would not rebound.
The money raised to 'treat' Charlie would be better used to treat kids with a chance at survival.
This is MY opinion and it is so because while I value "life", I don't value "living". That Charlie was born is in itself the key to everlasting life.
