This is the third time in my life that I've been engaged! The first time was to my dear husband and father of my children whom we lost to prostate cancer in 2008. In 2010 I got engaged again and I decided for my children's sakes that it would be a long engagement because they were still longing for their real father. It is a good thing I made that decision because two years later right before we were supposed to set the date, his true colors came out and I didn't like what I was seeing. I've been with my current fiance for a year and he asked me on Valentine's day. I said yes! My children really love him and they said yes too and I think they are old enough now and it has been a long enough time since their father passed for them to be emotionally ready to accept another father figure in their lives. Brad is 9, Chance is 11 and Marii is almost 13. I think it will be good to have a stable man in their lives during their teens and I will need all of the help I can get.
He is a good man and I met him at a new Church I started going to after my ex and I broke up. My ex went to the same church as me and it got complicated to see him and his entire family there who turned against me after I broke up with him. I liked the new Church a lot better anyway and it was closer to my home with a better Sunday School program for my kids. My new love, Todd, was one of the deacons in the church. He lost his first wife also to cancer so we had that experience in common and could help each other with the feelings of loss. He has been my constant friend since the first time he offered to take me and the kids to lunch after Church one day.
I wanted to share my good news with you! I'm sorry I can't be here very much. Between my job, kids and relationship I am too busy to get onto the internet much except to look up things or for business. The kids are enjoying so many activities I can barely keep up with their schedules much less my own! lol
Well wish me luck! We haven't set the date yet but it will probably be towards the end of the year. His sister lives in Argentina and it will be a big event to get her and her family here.
