Largest swell in decades hits Hawaiian shores, 40-50 foot waves roll in

I'm about 100feet from the high tide line and have been watching parts of houses roll by all morning. There is talk about possibly having to shut the road down. It hasn't peaked yet either - wish me luck! I would hate to have to evacuate! Good grief... Never a dull moment around here!

This, among other similar reasons is why the islands scare me to the point of psychosis.  If I would allow it, I could stand anywhere in Maui and picture myself on that pinpoint isle in the middle of a great and powerful ocean and totally freak out!   Then that would set up a chain reaction.  I'd freak at the airport too.  To make a long story short, I would be institutionalized in a padded room for the rest of my natural life.
