That system needs to be gutted. The Dept of Education needs to go bye-bye. The NEA should be declared a communist front organization (which it is) and outlawed. The curriculum needs to revert to pre-1960 standards, at least. Teacher wages should be tied to student performance -- not just test scores...

It would be a great idea if every government employee had to study, pass a test on the constitution and swear an oath to it. What a difference that could make .. although we know that liars, lie and swearing an oath means nothing to them.

I'm in complete agreement with both Gaga and Linda. The fewer services handled by the government the better. Education is definitely one area that should be hands off to the government. It's too powerful a route to indoctrination and frankly unAmerican!

I probably should have gone with unsure but I went with yest because the current system is so far down the cess pool that the degradation can't be stopped imho. I would rather dismantle it than save it.

I resent every dime spent on the DOE . Close it down. Give education back to the states. At least all of the kids won't be brainwashed in the exact same way nationwide.
